Hello! My name is Paula, I was born in beautiful Buenos Aires, Argentina, but I am extremely lucky to call the magical city of Queenstown in New Zealand home, where I live with my partner and our son.
I didn’t have one of those classic beginnings in the art of crochet like many in my sector, I didn’t have the luck to learn it as a child thanks to a grandmother, mother or aunt (none of my relatives at that time did anything to crochet, or with needles… but of course… now that it is fashionable I have several).
My first steps with this beautiful art were a few years ago, in 2015 to be more specific, and it was thanks to a causality, which in this case was a person leaving a magazine behind.
Years ago, when I was working for an airport, I found a magazine about crochet that someone had left on a seat on one of the planes, and without thinking too much I took it before someone threw it away and kept it out of curiosity to read later.
When my shift finished I started reading it to see what it was about and suddenly, in front of me, a world of opportunities began to open… I had no idea, at the time, of the amount of things that could be made with crochet! Everything was beautiful and magical, but what caught my attention the most and with which I fell completely in love was the world of Amigurumi’s. At last, I could create with my own hands all those characters that I had in my head!…
Today I can see that that magazine that I found on that plane was exactly what I was looking for without even knowing it.
So, person who left the crochet magazine on the plane… THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! You changed my life forever.
